Mercedes Actros 5 2018 Onwards and Arocs 2020 Onwards AHD/CVBS Camera Interface

This vehicle-specific video interface is suitable for selected Mercedes-Benz Actros 5 models from 2018 onwards and Mercedes-Benz Arocs models from 2020 onwards.

It allows compatible AHD and CVBS aftermarket cameras to be displayed through the vehicle’s original 10.25-inch Mercedes Multimedia Cockpit screen without replacing the factory monitor.

The vehicle must be fitted with a 10.25-inch Multimedia Cockpit display and a 31-pin factory radio connector. The interface is suitable for compatible vehicles with or without factory navigation.

Compatible with AHD and CVBS Cameras

The interface works with both high-definition AHD cameras and standard CVBS cameras, providing greater flexibility when selecting a front, rear or side camera system.

Each video input can be configured for the signal type and resolution of the connected camera through the interface’s on-screen settings menu.

Supported CVBS and AHD formats include:

• CVBS NTSC
• CVBS PAL
• AHD 720p NTSC at 30Hz
• AHD 720p PAL at 25Hz
• AHD 960p NTSC at 30Hz
• AHD 960p PAL at 25Hz
• AHD 1080p NTSC at 30Hz
• AHD 1080p PAL at 25Hz

Add Front, Rear and Side Cameras to the Factory Display

The interface provides four configurable AHD or CVBS video inputs, allowing additional camera coverage to be added to compatible Mercedes commercial vehicles.

• One AHD/CVBS input for an aftermarket reverse camera
• One AHD/CVBS input for an aftermarket front camera
• One AHD/CVBS input for a left-side camera or additional video source
• One AHD/CVBS input for a right-side camera or additional video source

The additional left and right inputs can be used with side cameras or other compatible aftermarket video equipment.

Automatic Reverse Camera Switching

When a compatible AHD or CVBS reverse camera is installed, the interface can automatically switch the factory display to the rear camera image when reverse gear is engaged.

The reverse gear signal can normally be detected through the vehicle’s CAN bus. An analogue reverse trigger input is also available where CAN bus detection is not supported or an analogue installation is preferred.

Automatic Front Camera Display

After reverse gear is disengaged, the interface can automatically display a connected AHD or CVBS front camera for a selected period.

• 5 seconds
• 10 seconds
• 15 seconds
• 20 seconds

This can provide improved forward visibility when completing a parking manoeuvre or positioning a large commercial vehicle in a restricted space.

The front camera can also be selected manually using the supplied external keypad.

Left and Right Side Camera Integration

The additional video inputs can be used with compatible AHD or CVBS left and right side cameras.

Where supported by the vehicle and interface, the relevant side camera can automatically appear on the factory display when the corresponding indicator is activated.

Analogue trigger inputs are also provided for installations where indicator signals are not available through the vehicle’s CAN bus.

Adjustable Reverse Camera Guidelines

The interface can display adjustable parking guidelines over the aftermarket reverse camera image.

Depending on the vehicle, installation method and CAN bus compatibility, the interface can support:

• Fixed parking guidelines
• Movable parking guidelines
• Adjustable guideline position
• Adjustable guideline angle and curve
• Guidelines switched off

Movable guidelines require compatible steering information from the vehicle CAN bus and may not be available in every vehicle.

Camera Power Outputs

The interface provides a dedicated 12V camera power output rated at up to 3A. This output is active only while a camera input is being displayed, helping support cameras that are not designed for continuous operation.

A separate 12V accessory output rated at up to 3A is also available for compatible additional video equipment.

External Keypad Control

The supplied external keypad allows the enabled camera and video inputs to be selected manually.

A long press cycles through the enabled additional inputs, while a short press switches directly to the front camera when that input has been activated.

An optional HDA-RC remote control may also be available separately for direct input selection and easier adjustment of the interface settings.

Please Note

• This product is the HDA-MBMC version and supports AHD and CVBS video sources. It does not include an HDMI video input.
• The correct AHD or CVBS video format and resolution must be selected in the interface settings for each connected camera.
• The interface inserts video signals only. Audio from additional video equipment must be connected separately through a compatible factory AUX input, FM modulator or another suitable audio interface.
• Some vehicles without navigation may use a 26-pin radio connector instead of the required 31-pin connector. Check the connection fitted to the vehicle before ordering.
• CAN bus compatibility can vary between vehicles. Analogue trigger connections may be required if reverse gear or indicator signals are not recognised through the vehicle CAN bus.
• Movable parking guidelines depend on compatible vehicle CAN bus data and are not available with an analogue-only installation.
• Cameras and additional video sources are not included unless specifically stated.
• Professional installation by a suitably qualified commercial vehicle electronics technician is strongly recommended.
