It provides an alternative microphone input for hands-free calls and compatible voice-control functions when the vehicle’s original factory microphone is unavailable or cannot be retained. Connects directly to the compatible 27-8 Series interface. The 27-8MIC provides a dedicated microphone input for compatible InCarTec 27-8 Series smartphone integration interfaces. It is intended for installations where the original vehicle microphone is not available for use with the interface.
Once connected to the compatible interface and positioned correctly inside the vehicle, the microphone can be used for hands-free calls and supported voice-control functions through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Check the part number of the interface already installed or being purchased before ordering this microphone. Compatibility is determined by the interface model rather than the make or model of the vehicle alone.
Install the microphone in a position that is close to the driver and clear of obstructions. Common mounting positions include the top of the windscreen pillar, near the rear-view mirror or along the upper edge of the dashboard.
Keep the microphone away from air vents, moving trim and areas likely to produce excessive wind or road noise.
Route the microphone cable carefully behind the dashboard and interior trim. Avoid routing it across airbags, sharp metal edges or moving components.
Test the microphone using a hands-free call or compatible voice command before fully refitting the dashboard and surrounding trim.
