The Thinkware BCFH-50W is a Full HD exterior infrared camera supplied with a 7-metre cable. Its 940nm infrared light records useful detail in extremely dark conditions, while the wide 126° field of view provides additional coverage around the vehicle. An IP68-rated housing protects against water and dust. Connect it to a compatible Thinkware dash cam or MB100 Multiplier Box for exterior, side, rear or load-area recording.
PLEASE NOTE: The Thinkware MB100 Multiplier Box, main dash cam and any further cameras are sold separately.
Add clear exterior recording to a compatible Thinkware dash cam system.
The BCFH-50W combines Full HD video, a wide 126-degree viewing angle,
infrared low-light recording and an IP68-rated housing with a generous
7-metre connection cable.
The Thinkware BCFH-50W is designed for vehicles requiring an
additional exterior camera in a location where a conventional
windscreen-mounted camera may not be suitable.
It is ideal for motorhomes, commercial vehicles, vans, taxis and
fleet vehicles requiring side, rear, load-area or vehicle-perimeter
coverage.
The BCFH-50W records in Full HD 1080p, providing useful video evidence
of activity and incidents around the exterior of the vehicle.
Position the camera to capture activity alongside the vehicle that
may fall outside the view of front-and-rear cameras.
Install the camera at the rear of a suitable vehicle to record
traffic, parking incidents and activity behind it.
Add a recording angle for commercial loading areas, vehicle
entrances or other important exterior locations.
The built-in 940nm infrared light illuminates the immediate area around
the camera, allowing it to record useful detail in extremely dark
conditions where little or no visible light is available.
During daylight conditions, the camera records with natural colour and
balanced image reproduction. Infrared illumination supports recording
when darkness would otherwise prevent useful detail from being captured.
The camera uses a rugged IP68-rated housing designed to resist
water and dust. This makes it suitable for demanding exterior
installations when fitted correctly in an appropriate location.
Correct mounting, cable routing and sealing are essential. Any
cable entry points created during installation must be sealed
properly to prevent moisture entering the vehicle.
The wide 126-degree viewing angle captures a broad area around the
selected mounting position. It can provide additional evidence of
parking damage, passing vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists or activity
around commercial and recreational vehicles.
The supplied 7-metre cable provides the additional reach required
for installation on vans, commercial vehicles, motorhomes and
other larger vehicles.
Plan the complete cable route before mounting the camera. The cable
should be kept away from airbags, pedals, steering components,
sharp edges, excessive heat and moving vehicle parts.
The BCFH-50W can be connected to the Thinkware MB100 Multiplier Box as
part of a multi-camera vehicle recording system.
The MB100 accepts up to four compatible additional camera feeds.
The additional feeds are combined into a composite recording for
the compatible main dash cam.
The main front camera and four additional cameras can create a
five-channel recording system.
Add exterior recording to the side or rear of a larger recreational
vehicle.
Monitor loading areas, vehicle sides, rear doors or other important
exterior locations.
Add another recording angle to support vehicle and passenger
protection.
Extend recording coverage for security, incident evidence and
vehicle monitoring.
Choose a secure mounting position that provides the required view
without obstructing doors, lighting, registration plates, vehicle
controls or other equipment. Confirm the recorded camera angle before
permanently securing it.
Route the 7-metre cable safely through the vehicle and keep it away from
airbags, pedals, steering components, sharp edges, heat sources and
moving parts. Exterior-to-interior cable entry points must be sealed
correctly to prevent water ingress.
Exterior camera installation requires careful positioning, secure
mounting, weather sealing and safe cable routing. Professional fitting
helps ensure the camera has a useful field of view, cable entry points
are sealed and the camera operates correctly with the connected
Thinkware system.
